The Faculty of Dentistry at Sri Lalithambigai Medical College and Hospital functions with a prime focus on Patient Care related to oral health and hygiene which acts as a mirror of the body functions. We do so by providing an array of dental treatment services ranging from preventive to speciality dental care. It starts with a thorough and detailed examination and proper diagnosis depending of the patients need on an individual basis with personalised plan.

We use the latest state of the art dental technology with digital radio-visuo-graphy and systematic treatment planning executed by various specialised and experienced faculty members providing exceptional dental care. The faculty fleet consists of doctors from various speciality departments like Oral Medicine and Radiology, Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics and Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics. Various dental procedures range from diagnosis, preventive, restorative, minor surgical, paediatric and prosthetic rehabilitation services.

Our main treatment objective is prevention and restoration of the teeth and the surrounding structures rather than removal and replacement of missing teeth unless and until it’s deemed absolute necessity. We give utmost care and importance to improve the patient’s morale by relieving their pain and discomfort providing them with a healthy, confident smile and oral health. Latest equipment and materials are used to treat the various dental problems to provide the patient rehablitatory services which mimic the natural oral and dental anatomy. Oral medicine and radiology services include accurate diagnosis and radiological interpretations of the oral and maxillofacial pathology by providing specialised diagnosis of oral mucosal lesions and early detection of oral cancers and its prevention and treatment. Conservative and endodontic procedures include fillings, bio mimetic restorations, root canal therapies and aesthetic rehablitation with laser expertise. Orthodontic and Dentofacial procedures done by our faculty include services ranging from preventive orthodontic therapies to growth modifications, fixed appliances and clear aligner therapies which help the patients both in their functional and aesthetic needs. The orthodontic therapies are provided to an array of patients ranging from children, adolescents and also adults. The MBBS students are also trained in basic diagnosis and awareness of oral health and hygiene through multiple clinical exposure sessions and discussions.
