Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT)
This is a universally approved, safe and well studied neuromodulation technique. A low voltage alternating current is delivered under short anaesthesia with muscle relaxant for treatment resistant cases especially for highly suicidal and violent patients and severe mental illnesses where medications are not adequately effective. It is an in patient procedure and patients improve with serial sessions. At SLMCH we have trained psychiatrists and anaesthetists to deliver the facility

Deaddiction centre
Alcohol and substance use is a burning problem in our society. SLMCH offers multi disciplinary treatment facility including detailed medical, surgical neurological and psychiatric assessment, pharmacological management, psychotherapy, family and group interventions. Exclusive ward with recreational facility is available for patients.

Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS)
This is an OP based neuromodulation procedure. Direct current of low voltage is delivered for 20-30 minutes in specific scalp areas according to well studied protocols. It is non invasive, does not require medications, no side effects, approved for all age groups across mental health problems like depressive disorder, anxiety disorder, deaddiction, obsessive compulsive disorder.

Biofeedback
This is a non invasive neuromodulation technique. A cuff like that of bp apparatus is tied to hand. The machine reads the tension in muscle like electromyography in people with anxiety. Trained professionals will guide the person to neutralise the tension and employ the techniques during anxiety or panic attacks.
