IMPEDANCE AUDIOMETRY
Impedance audiometry, also known as tympanometry or acoustic Immittance testing, is a diagnostic hearing test used to assess the function of the middle ear. It does not directly measure hearing sensitivity but instead evaluates the mobility of the eardrum (tympanic membrane) and the conduction bones by varying air pressure in the ear canal. It is a crucial tool in identifying conditions that may interfere with sound transmission through the middle ear.
